The principals and top management of Summit are leaders in the hotel industry locally, statewide, and nationally and also are involved in their own communities. Members of the Summit corporate team collectively have more than 150 years of experience in all aspects of business operations, marketing, sales, planning, accounting, and administration.

R. Doyle Parrish
CEO | Doyle Parrish has been responsible for multimillion-dollar property management and involved in the development and operation of hotels since 1985. In 1988 Doyle co-founded Summit Hospitality Group, Ltd. in Raleigh, North Carolina. Today, Summit Hospitality Group, Ltd. manages a combined total of sixteen franchised Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt hotel brand properties, The Dunhill Hotel, and three independent restaurants. As C.E.O. of Summit Hospitality Group, Ltd., Doyle heads a corporate team that collectively brings proven experience to all aspects of hotel development, operations, marketing, sales, planning, accounting and administration.
In addition to his position as principal of a leading hotel management company, Doyle is active in industry and community concerns. He is the past chairman of the North Carolina Travel and Tourism Coalition (NCTTC), past chairman and past board member of the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau, and past president of Raleigh’s North Carolina Theatre. Doyle serves on the boards of directors for CapStone Bank, the UNC Board of Governors, the Wake Forest University Babcock School Board of Visitors, the Hospitality Alliance of North Carolina (HANC), the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (NCRLA), the Centennial Authority, the Occoneechee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the National Board of the Boy Scouts of America.

Ian W. G. Sauer
VP of Operations | Ian Sauer has 30+ years of hospitality experience with establishments ranging from limited-service properties to full-service urban hotels. Ian has been with Summit Hospitality since July of 1996. Ian’s current role in the company is managing the Wilmington, Charlotte, Pinehurst and Winston Salem markets. This includes 7 branded hotels, the Historic Dunhill hotel and the award winning Asbury Restaurant. Ian also assists in the new development of all new hotels and has been the primary new property opening leader.
Ian is past Chairman of the Board for the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitor Bureau, and he currently serves on the Board of The Caring House, the Board of the Triangle Education Advancement Foundation, and SKAL International Raleigh Durham Club. Ian also serves on the Leadership Committee for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and is the Co-Chairman of the Wake County Hospitality Alliance. Past positions have included Chairman of Thalian Hall Performing Arts and various youth sport organizations and clubs.

Jared C. Reed
RTP Area Manager | Jared is a graduate of Appalachian State University's Hospitality Management program and he brings 15+ years of experience to Summit Hospitality. His career with Summit Hospitality began in 2001 and within that time he has managed multiple Fairfield Inn & Suites, the Hampton Inn & Suites in Wilmington, the Courtyard by Marriott at Crabtree and the Hilton Garden Inn in Durham. Jared’s opening and management experience with multiple hotels across multiple brands brings invaluable knowledge to Summit’s leadership team as the company has grown its portfolio of hotels. His experience with team building combined with his coaching and leadership talents brought him and his teams - Summit’s "Hotel of the Year” award - several times during his career with Summit.

Glenn Young
Business Analyst | Glenn joined Summit Hospitality in 2013. His areas of focus include existing property financings and construction financing for new developments, investor relations, and information & technology oversight. Glenn is involved in the Leadership Raleigh program sponsored by the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining Summit, Glenn worked in the financial services industry. Glenn received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from UNC-Chapel Hill and is MBA from Wake Forest University.

Jason Whitehurst
Director of Revenue Strategy | Jason is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington and is a 20+ year veteran of the hospitality industry. During Jason’s career he has held positions in nearly every discipline of hotel management including asset management, development, renovations and revenue management. Jason joined Summit in 2004, and became involved with the revenue management department in 2008. Jason plays an integral role in the development of business intelligence and strategy deployment for the company’s hotel portfolio.

Debbie Capps
Accounting and Finance | Debbie is a 25+ year veteran of Summit Hospitality Group, Ltd. Debbie manages an experienced team in the day-to-day accounting processes including cash flow, review and balancing of property reports, accounts payable and payroll as well as monthly financial statement preparation and reporting to ownership. She is also vital in the annual budgeting creation and review process. In addition, Debbie oversees the financial aspects of property renovations and new property development.
