Job Description: Director of Sales

Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall sales effort for the Fairfield Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel. Work with the property General Manager to implement processes that ensures seamless transition between sales and the operations team. Provide training, leadership and mentoring to the sales team.
Overall Responsibilities:
§ Manage and coordinate all sales activities at the hotel
§ Provide a continuous sales training platform
§ Coordinate with the General Manager to implement sales & operational processes
§ Analyze market/environmental trends to assist in sales strategies and implementation
§ Provide development and growth of the sales team
§ Work effectively with upper management to communicate, collaborate and support the company/hotel objectives
§ Manage corporate LNR/National business transient account, group and key accounts within the organization
§ Provide support and leadership for the sales team
§ Increase hotel revenues, ADR, and RevPar
§ Advocate service excellence, teamwork and an environment to have fun, learn and succeed
§ Be accountable, in collaboration with Revenue Management and General Manager, to hotel budgets and revenues
Job Tasks:
§ Responsible for organizing and ensuring weekly sales meetings are implemented where all sales team members and GM’s are involved
§ Responsible for prospecting, booking, maintaining, and increasing our LNR/National business transient and group accounts
§ Responsible for executing sales activities (cold calls, prospecting, qualifying, appointments, site tours, etc.)
§ Responsible for gathering, maintaining and analyzing sales booking data
§ Responsible for developing, implementing and advocating the sales focus throughout the sales team
§ Responsible for organizing, implementing and monitoring all sales activities (Blitz, Open Houses, Promotions)
§ Responsible for analyzing operational/sales reports to create strategic plans to gain market share, proper mix of business and increase revenues (STAR, Comp Shop Reports, P&L, Booking Reports, etc.)
§ Assist in the hiring, and disciplinary process of all sales team members
§ Conduct performance review process of all sales team members
§ Responsible for training the sales team
§ Responsible for holding the sales team accountable in accordance to the processes, policies and standards of the hotel and company.
§ Responsible for participating in community events, associations and organizations to promote our company’s community presence
§ Responsible for building, maintaining and solidifying company partnerships in all market segments
§ Responsible for assisting General Manager in creating annual budgets and expenditures
